Day 2 - Mon, 14th May 2007

IMAX

9am - had a good night's sleep.. the bed linens were real nice.. The house-keeper really does his laundry with well..

anyway.. JH was waiting to collect his laundry before we move out.. so we went to the IMAX theatre (RM15/pax) at Times Square to watch the 3-D documentary "Walking on the Moon".. it was cool.. there was a scene with a special effect where a piece rock flew straight at us.. JH dodged.. i didn't.. ahah.. JH said i had reflex problems.. nah.. i think it's silly to be fooled by the 3-D image.. i was smart :D

12pm - went back to collect the laundry.. time to visit KL Sentral railyway station to get the train tickets to Butterworth.. had checked the week's weather forecast.. thunderstorms every day.. otherwise might have headed to Cameron Highlands first instead..

*Unfortunate Event 1* - my sandal sole broke loose on the way to the railway station.. arrgh.. had to 'flip-flop' my way around.. top priority: buy new sandals..

well.. along the way.. we did discover a road side hawker stall selling cheap and great tasting fried bananas.. freshly fried.. crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.. must come back again to try the fritters if we ever visit again..

2:30pm - wanted to visit the University of Malaya along the way.. too bad there wasn't enough time.. so went straight to Petaling Jaya to meet up with JH's cousin.. finally someone to chauffeur us around :D

so we drove to 1 Utama.. a huge shopping complex.. found the elusive A&W restaurant and had my first root beer float in 3 years! yum yum..

i bought a new pair of sandals from a supermarket around there.. it wasn't an impressive pair of sandals.. but it was decent and cheap.. JH's sandals was also giving way.. so he bought the same sandals as me.. we could end up wearing the same sandals when we return to Singapore.. how gay..

7pm - JH's cousin drove us to their aunt's home.. saw a chinese chess set there and we started playing.. lost 2 games to JH there.. hmmph.. JH had fun and we decided to get our own chess set so that we could play it on the long train ride to Butterworth.. that inspired me.. evil thought to self "i must beat JH to the game next time".. wahaha.. i thought of all the neat moves to use on him next time.. *evil grin* devil

9pm - JH's aunt bought us dinner at a nearby cookhouse.. the Hokkien noodles there were real tasty.. their noodles are cooked in a different style as compared to Singapore.. apparently i would be sampling more types of local flavor in the next few days to come..

10pm - returned to Bukit Bintang and headed straight to the Popular bookstore to get our own chess set.. even got a pack of blue-tack to stick the chess pieces to the playsheet.. in case the train shakes violently.. well prepared sia.. ahah.. anyway, buying the chess set proved to be JH's undoing for the games of chess to come.. wahaha..
