Day 3 - Tue, 15th May 2007

6:30am - did not sleep well that night.. constantly woke up in the middle of the night.. and i could have sworn i heard creaking noises in the room.. was rather eerie.. but i don't believe in such things.. doesn't bother me.. it was good thing we had to wake up early.. was going to KLCC early in the morning to grab the early tickets to go up the twin tower bridge.. been looking forward to it a long time hoping to get some nice photos..

Petrona Towers Bridge view

7:15am - we took our time to go to KLCC though.. surprisingly we still ended up early and got the tickets for the 9am entry.. ahah.. time to get some pics..

i think i got some nice photos.. the photos are uploaded here.

apparently this is the opening day for the visitors lounge at the bridge since its renovation.. we got sourveniors for that (a magnet and a clip).. lucky us |=)

11am - we headed to KL Sentral again.. this time to visit the Lake Gardens.. one minor problem though.. we didn't know the way!

after looking around a little and some help from JH's friend through the phone.. we finally got the directions right.. but we had 3 major obstacles to cross.. (1)Highway, (2)Railway, and (3)Expressway.. adventurous as we have always been.. we tried skirting the main road (Jalan Tun Sambanthan) eastwards in search of a crossing.. to no avail..

we turned back to the railway station.. we could walk through the railway station easily to the other side.. first two obstacles crossed.. why did we not think of that earlier?? (0.o)

continued with our journey.. first destination was the National Museum.. but along the way we entered a tourist information centre.. finally some air-conditioning to cool our heat.. JH had a conversation with the tourist officers.. we found out that we had almost visited all the tourist hotspots in KL.. no more places for us to visit?? kaoz.. but we still have 2 more days to spend in KL.. oh well.. what the heck.. just continue with our aimless exploration.. we did get some nice tourism brochures from this place though.. especially for our next destination Penang..

we decided to skip the museum.. we reckoned it would not be interesting.. and we could save on the entrance fee :p

we were starting to run out of cash.. and it was only the 3rd day.. because we forgot to take into account our yet-to-be-paid hostel fees.. time to start being thrifty..

1pm - next stop.. Planetarium Negara.. we thought we could visit the planetarium and watch some nice shows there.. but it turned out to be their lunch break.. too bad.. skipped this spot too..

JH was starting to get real "hot and sticky".. he began complaining about the heat.. but i still wanted to visit the Lake Gardens.. oh well.. quickly get our feets to the lake then we can scram.. still some way off to the lake.. and we were feeding the mosquitoes along the way..

Lake Gardens

after dragging ourselves to the lake.. finally found a spot to sit down and rest a bit.. i took a photo of the lake (left).. i love this kind of natural spots..

we were so bored that we took photographs of each other, taking photograph of each other.. literally..

JH was still complaining about the heat and hill climbing.. i guess his feet were hurting because of the shoes he was wearing.. we headed to the nearest cafeteria to grab a nice cool drink of bandung..

2:30pm - our final destination of the day was the Mid Valley Megamall.. just one station from KL Sentral.. how convenient :p we were already dreaming of the air-conditioning in the mall..

first thing to do.. find food of course.. ahah.. we walked the entire basement of this huge mall and could not find any place to my vegetarian friend's liking.. conclusion: this place is not for vegetarians..

that was about it for the day.. we returned early to the hostel for once to have an early rest..

10pm - we were hungry when we got back so we decided to have supper.. at the food district along Jalan Alor just behind our hostel.. apparently this place was also not for vegetarians.. i ordered a toad porridge there.. and JH ordered a dish of vegetables with rice.. the vendor (forgot the name of the stall) seemed to have ripped us off a bit.. it cost RM11 for the single dish.. JH was extremely pissed about it.. guess this would be the last time he would be visiting the stall.. we also ordered the fried carrot cake.. first time i saw carrot cake that was fried with bean sprouts.. i was positively "traumatised" by this style of cooking.. anyway.. i let JH gobble it all up since he was hungry..

before tucking in to sleep.. we continued with a few games of chess.. i think i won him at least 5 games straight :D

tsk tsk.. my frustration tactics worked on him.. wahaha.. i got my revenge..
