another friend will be getting married.. but this time is probably my closest friend yet to be tying the knot..

anyways.. he's so serious about this relationship that he has gone to all the trouble to build a circuit board with "the question" lit by LEDs..

of course i did contribute a slight bit to it's construction and i think the end-product is not too bad [thumbs up] all the best to his endeavor!

JH and i were jogging from Mt. Faber towards Kent Ridge Park.. then of course there is this canopy walkway along the way.. which is a high altitude steel bridge that navigates around the forest canopy.. so my friend came up with this idea..

received a VIP invitation from my final year student LL who topped the course.. went to attend his convocation ceremony last night.. so proud of him.. it was only just a year ago when i was supposed to walk the stage (though i didn't attend).. and now i watch a junior walking through the same road.. how fast one year seems to pass.. anyways.. it felt awkward sitting at the front.. i think this is probably the first and the last time i will ever get front row seats at a commencement..

EU and JH laws of Reincarnation

my good buddhist friend was none too agreeable about me catching ants for my Boliaology shots.. our conversation proceeded to some discussion on the consequence of death and rebirth..

being a scientist at heart.. i would like to break down the ideas we developed into 3 fundamental principles.. or laws as most would put it..

the 3 laws in detail..

First law: The Inertia of Birth and Rebirth

every soul continues to experience rebirth upon death and death upon rebirth in a continuous loop unless forces of kindness elevates the soul to a higher life form similar to that of a god.. external forces such as "God's intervention" may also disrupt his process..

Second law: The Law of Overpopulation

the rate of increase in human population is proportional to the square of the rate of humans killing critters such as ants, mosquitoes, roaches or bugs etc.. this is related to the first law.. assuming that every critter possess a soul.. a human killing the critter would have sinned and thus remain in the cycle... furthermore, the law of karma also comes into play.. the critter's soul may likely be reborn as a human being to exact some form of revenge on the human who squished it in its previous life.. therefore human population increases to unsustainable numbers.. this is an extremely vicious cycle that will not be broken for a long time to come..

Third law: Law of Revengeful Actions

for every evil deed there is an equal and opposite revengeful act.. this law simply states that a victim of an evil deed will exert a revengeful act of equal force against the person.. this third law complements the law of karma..

my conclusion.. the world is gonna end anyway.. so why not just help it along..

but of course it is plain human nature to try to save the inevitable.. so i guess i will try my best not to catch live specimens for the sake of Boliaology.. dead specimens anyone?
